Assalamu Aleikum Dear Parents,
Most of you are aware of our "Goal of the Week" assignments from previous years. The idea behind these assignments is to practice what we learn. When we apply our knowledge, insha' Allah, we will benefit from it. Each week we discuss the Goal of the Week during the assembly and the students will be given the "Goal of the Week" sheet. Here are some guidelines to keep in mind:
1. The Goal of the Week is obligatory. It is a separate grade on each student’s report card. If your child is missing a Goal of the Week sheet please let the Islamic Studies teacher know.
2. Your signature needs to be on the sheet to be accounted for. For the younger students (preschool and KG) we ask that you read the assignment to your child, discuss it, do as much as you can, and sign it. We just want to see that you have talked about the assignment at home and your signature will tell us that. Our challenge is to make this assignment fun and interesting for all our students who range from 4 years of age up to teenagers! We ask you to help us in bringing the main message of each topic to your child's level.
3. Remember that the main idea is to apply our Islamic knowledge to our daily lives. Try to engage the whole family and discuss the topics around the dinner table or whenever you have a moment together. We appreciate any feedback and we thank you in advance for your help and support!
Sincerely,
Al-Iman Staff
