Assalamu Alaikum,
We hope this message finds you and your family in the best of health and Iman inshAllah.
SubhanAllah, everyday we face new and evolving information surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic has touched so many people all across the world and has changed the way we conduct our daily lives. We ask Allah Subhanahu wa Tala to protect each and every one of us and to make this a time that brings us closer to Allah Subhanahu wa Tala.
Al-Iman staff and community continue to adapt and modify plans in accordance to the Mosque boards, the state governor, and the ISBE/IDPH. With all of these recommendations and guidelines in mind, Al-Iman Institute has made the decision to open the school online this upcoming Fall. We will continually reassess the situation to see when and if we can return to in person learning. While this was a difficult decision to undertake, we feel that it is in the best interest of our students and their families and will allow us to maintain safety precautions while also continuing to learn about our deen.
With this in mind, we will uphold the following goals as we continue to prepare for online learning:
Online registration will open for all Al-Iman Institute schools on August 5th, 2020. You will receive more information about registration on this day.
We ask Allah Subhanahu wa Tala to help us through this difficult time and to grant as all patience and ease.
Jazakum Allahu Khyran,

- Maintain preparations for in person learning: If the COVID situation improves during our Fall online learning period, Al-Iman Institute will make the move to in person learning as soon as possible.
- Increase synchronous (live) learning: We are currently working on setting up live classes for our students to help parents maintain a schedule.
- Make virtual classes more interactive: We hope we can work to help make virtual learning more personal. We will work with teachers and programs to help make the classroom setting conductive to learning.

Assalamu Alaikum,
As an Islamic school, it is incumbent upon us to pass on the knowledge of our deen to our children while we maintain the safety of our community. Therefore, we must adapt to the current situation while maintaining our dedication to the best possible Islamic education. To achieve this important goal of passing on sacred knowledge, Al-Iman Institute is working on a plan for opening this 2020-2021 school year with safety precautions in mind.
As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, there are many uncertainties surrounding when schools will be able to resume normal activity. What is certain though, is that there will be many major changes to how a normal day of school will look like as long as there is no vaccine for the virus.
At this time we want to make you aware that while Al-Iman Institute staff and community members are working on a plan for opening, we must wait for decisions made by the Mosque boards, the state governor, and the ISBE/IDPH.
To keep you aware, we are currently considering three options:
1. Adjusted In-Person Classes: Normal school will resume with major adjustments in procedures and safety precautions.
2. Reduced Classes: Class sizes will be reduced and students will observe both online and in-person learning.
3. Online Classes: Classes will resume completely online.
Registration for the 2020-2021 school year will open once we receive more information from the mosque boards and the state. Please continue to check the website and emails with updates.
We ask for your patience in this situation and to continue to keep our community in your duaa.
